Six days out, it looks like a sunny day in Nassau, temps in the mid 50's. Come join us on a classic Nassau gravel route, created by Greytooth, which used to include a ride across the rickety Spangler Bridge. (now blocked with chain link fencing.)
At 63 feet of climbing per mile, this is about the flattest route you can find in the Nassau/Chatham area, and still experience some fun gravel roads. Highlights include 7 Bridges Rd (up), Ford, Dorland, and Bacchus.
We're doing this ride with some friends who haven't ridden much gravel this season, so we expect a casual ride, but this is gravel, and there are some hills. The foliage might be decent by then.
If you need a rest room, there's a Stewart's in Nassau very close to the starting point.

What's better than riding bikes on VT dirt roads in October? This route starts off with an 11 mile gravel climb that averages 3-4% with a few steeper pitches sprinkled in. This is an out and back route so the 11 mile climb at the start means the route ends with an 11 mile decent which will make you forget about the climb.
Use this ride to help prepare yourself for the Gravel Goblin which is only 2 weeks later on November 1st.
- 8AMulti-pace/122020.320.30Sunday Morning Wake Up RideSteve Redler
This is the peak Fall foliage weekend for the Voorheesville area so the route will take us close to the escarpment to see the leaf changes up close. Route back is via Becker Road and avoids the apple/pumpkin picking traffic. Rain will cancel although the forecast is sunny!

- 10AGravel/115251.651.60Taconic Mountains GravelJohn Berninger
There are plenty of nicely shaded, lightly traveled gravel roads on this route. We'll stop for a break at Cannon Park (and the Mobil store) in Lakeville, Connecticut. After the four mile gravel climb of Mount Riga we'll cruise the ridge of the Taconic Mountains for another 10 miles before enjoying a four mile descent back to Egremont.
Parking is on the grass to the left of the French Park entrance driveway. Do not use Apple Maps because that will direct you to the Dog Park parking lot. See MHCC Facebook page for day of ride information. We'll regroup once in a while and no riders will be left behind.
